I currently lead the Food Security Squad project.  We collect extra produce on a weekly basis during the summer and then donate it to local food pantries.

We also grow out and donate tomato seedlings in the spring.

Every year, I grow many flowers and vegetables from seed, for my own garden and to share with friends.  I like to use the flowers, shrubs and trees from my yard to create Ikebana arrangements, a Japanese method of flower arranging, which I have been studying for several years.  I also propagate tropicals, succulents and cacti.  At last count, I had over 60 indoor potted plants.

I am a landscape designer and have received my AAS in Horticulture from the College of DuPage.  I am also a fiber artist and use wool fibers and fabric to create felted art pieces and small quilts.

I enjoy visiting public and private gardens whenever and wherever possible.  There is always so much to see and learn, while meeting new friends along the way.
